Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters

A potent upper level low will affect the waters tonight and Tuesday morning...bringing a chance of rain and a slight chance for thunderstorms. A generally moderate west wind will develop on Tuesday as the upper low moves east of the area. The west winds will bring much drier air to the waters and end rain chances. A weak to moderate offshore flow late Tuesday night will weaken and become onshore by Wednesday afternoon as low pressure enters the Texas Panhandle. Onshore flow will gradually increase through Friday night as the low pressure deepens. A cold front will push through the coastal waters Saturday afternoon with a strong offshore flow expected to develop in the wake of the front.

Tuesday Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning...then slight chance of showers in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet.
Wednesday Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots diminishing to 5 to 10 knots early in the afternoon...then becoming south late in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 feet.
Wednesday Night South winds around 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet.
Thursday South winds around 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet.
Friday South winds 15 to 20 knots diminishing to around 15 knots after midnight. Seas 3 to 5 feet building to 6 to 10 feet. Slight chance of showers.
Saturday Light winds becoming northeast 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon and evening...then increasing to around 25 knots after midnight. Seas 10 to 14 feet subsiding to 5 to 7 feet. Slight chance of showers.
