Expect bands of moderate lake effect snow through Friday morning. Patchy blowing snow is possible this evening. Snow accumulations into Friday morning will range from 2 to 5 inches... heaviest in the higher terrain areas from Mohawk to Delaware.
A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake effect snow showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use caution when traveling.

12 inch snowfall since 7am yesterday. 3.5 inches fell bewteen 7am and 7pm yesterday... 6.2 inches fell between 7pm last night and 7am this morning... and another 2.3 inches fell between 7am and noon today. Gusty conditions are beginning now... blowing heavy snow out of trees and reducing visibility.
