Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 7:08 PM CST on January 08, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight
tonight to 9 PM CST Friday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight
to 9 PM CST Friday.
Snow is expected to develop across southwest and west central
Minnesota this evening... and spread eastward across central and
south central Minnesota overnight. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 5
inches will be common across the advisory area by Friday
evening... which includes locations along and south of a Little
Falls to northern Twin Cities line. The greatest risk of around 5
inches of snow would be around Faribault... Waseca... and Owatonna.
Snow will persist through the day on Friday... and gradually taper
off on Friday evening. Northwest winds will become gusty in the
wake of the snowfall on Friday night... which could result in
areas of blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
