A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect until 6 PM CST Friday.
Snow will move into the Devils Lake basin and southeastern North Dakota by midnight and then into adjacent portions of west central Minnesota by Friday morning. A band of 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected by Friday afternoon along and south of a Devils Lake to Fargo to Fergus Falls line.
Winds during most of the snowfall will not be strong... but they will increase to northerly at 15 to 20 mph by Friday afternoon causing mainly drifting snow... with perhaps some blowing snow near the north and South Dakota border area Friday afternoon. The snow will taper off fairly quickly by late Friday afternoon.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
