... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST Friday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST Friday.
An area of moderate snow will move across the area over the next several hours. 2 to 4 inches of accumulation will be possible by sunrise Friday morning. Snow is expected to taper off late tonight... but then redevelop late Friday morning and continue into early afternoon. Total snowfall will range from 3 to 6 inches across the area.
Areas of freezing rain or freezing drizzle could accompany the snow at times over the southwestern edge of this area... from Brookings South Dakota to Pipestone and Worthington Minnesota.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. A brief period of freezing drizzle may also result in a glaze of ice on untreated surfaces late tonight.
