Tishomingo County in northeast Mississippi... eastern Carroll County in northwest Tennessee... Hardin County in southwest Tennessee... eastern Henderson County in southwest Tennessee... eastern McNairy County in southwest Tennessee... * until noon CDT * at 903 am CDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain over the advisory area. Over the past 3 hours... National Weather Service Doppler radar estimates that 1 to 2 inches of rainfall has fallen across the affected area Locations affected by the urban and small stream flood advisory include Iuka... Savannah... Selmer... Acton... Adamsville and Belmont. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area and will produce minor localized flooding. Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
