This is great! We may even get North Carolina to turn blue!
The republican pandering to the corporate class got so bad our myopic society finally realized a smattering of what was going on and has risen up! This is funny. There is a striking parallel to the civil war in this election. The South seceded because of slavery. I grew up in deep south Louisiana, so I know all the catch-phrases like "states' rights" and "true republican government" - all they were meant to say was that if one wanted to keep a certain race enslaved, there was a moral high ground for justification.
In the Civil War, the most rabid "defenders" of the southern "faith" were generally ignorant folks who could no more afford a slave than they could write a novel. In our current presidential season, the most rabid defenders of Sen. McCain and his anti-everyone policies are those who can least afford it - grunts working for less than $50K a year who have been shunted onto some splinter issue and will live or (economically) die as a result.
REALITY CHECK -- If you make less than $122,000 per year, Sen. Obama's plans are better for you. If you want to have a realistic chance of owning a house in the next 10 years, Sen. Obama's plans are better for you. Carry it a step further. How's your health care? Do you like McCain's healthcare plan which relies on gutting medicare to pay for it? Thought not. ETC.
